When the AFL-CIO Labor Union Membership was in Phila in January for a convention they fanned into different parts of the city performing community service activities. We were fortunate to get a crew to help with a painting and cleaning project at the Advocate on January 18th. The union members who came to the Advocate were from various parts of the country and represented various locals. Giving back to the community! Thank you! ![]() AFL-CIO Labor Volunteers pictured with Pastor Renee Sharon Armstrong, Wisconsin Erin Spengler, Wisconsin Alfred Daniely, Georgia Regina Wilson, Michigan Terrance Thompson, Florida Tracy Jones, Michigan

I attend Greater Mt Zion Baptise Church, 500 Traylor Street Thomaston, where Rev Charles Reeves is my pastor. I can truly say it was an experience that I have shared with my coworkers, friends, family, and my local in Warner Robins Georgia, AFGE Local 987. It was great to see that a church is still teaching, giving and helping the community. I enjoyed doing the volunteered service and meeting the wonderful staff they had there. It really was something hearing the history of the church from Rev. Dr. Renee McKenzie. She also took the time to let us take a tour of the church and shared what we do as union workers in our community.
